If the Philadelphia Union’s pedigree was doubted before kick-off against Toronto FC, then it certainly isn’t being questioned afterwards. A 2-1 win over the 2017 Major League Soccer champions gave the Union their third consecutive victory and their fourth from the last five matches.
As it stands, the Union sit atop the Eastern Conference level on points with D.C. United. What transpired on Saturday has to have drawn the attention of the entire league as the Union doesn’t appear to be an easy side to remove from the top.
