Toronto FC were coming into their first leg match-up against Tigres as the underdogs, yet they came away with a crucial 2-1 win. That said, they did concede an away goal to Tigres which could play a factor in the second leg if TFC can’t score.

TFC looked a little out of sorts in the first 20-25 minutes of the game, but started to impose themselves later on the match.

It took 52 minutes before someone got on the board, with Eduardo Vargas converting a nicely placed shot on the run. TFC would grab the tying goal six minutes later as Jozy Altidore used his body to corral a pass and slot a shot passed the Tigres goalkeeper.
