Rose Lavelle’s 56th-minute goal lifted the USWNT to victory against Sweden as Alyssa Naeher recorded her ninth career clean sheet in net. Here are three takeaways from the international friendly.
#1 Rose Lavelle sparks offense
Lavelle was fantastic on Thursday as she not only scored the match-winning goal but also created opportunities for the U.S. throughout the match. Her speed allowed her to make runs down the wing as well as get past defenders and send in crosses. She linked up well with Crystal Dunn and the two young players showed why they were deserved starters on Thursday.
