Ecuadorean attacker Joao Rojas has completed a deal to New York City FC, and the deal represents a rather significant investment from his new club in the young talent.
The 23-year old Rojas, a creative player who can slot-in any three of the attacking midfield roles, is currently on the books at Ecuadorean powerhouse Emelec. A source close to the situation tells FanSided’s MLS Multiplex that the transfer fee for the player is $2.8 million.
His salary, the source said, is expected to make him a signing that uses Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).
