The Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers played one of the greatest playoff series in recent memory. Their Western Conference semi-final ended on Thursday night with a Dairon Asprilla penalty thumped off the palms of Stefan Frei.
It was a riveting, back-and-forth affair, with both teams competing intensely throughout. There were sloppy moments with quality sometimes lacking, but you did not have to look far to find drama, nerves and a truly turbulent playoff contest.
