Seattle Sounders sign Tony Alfaro team top pick MLS draft

The Seattle Sounders have signed center-back Tony Alfaro, the team's first pick in the 2016 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, according to the club's website.

In addition to signing the 22-year-old Alfaro, the Sounders also announced that third-year player Damion Lowe will be sent to NASL club Minnesota United FC on loan for the season.

The Sounders hope that the 6-foot-2 Alfaro, a Division II All-American at Cal State Dominguez Hills, will give them added depth at the center-back position this season.

Seattle's other center-backs are Chad Marshall, Brad Evans, Zach Scott and Roman Torres.
