The Seattle Sounders acquired an international roster spot and targeted allocation money on Tuesday in a move that clears the way for a club to sign a third designated player and an additional high-priced player.
The Sounders freed up a DP slot when Obafemi Martins was sold to Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua last month, and could be nearing a move to fill it after sending general allocation money to Toronto FC.
Seattle's remaining DPs are forwards Clint Dempsey and Nelson Valdez, and the club could be looking to improve the midfield after signing another striker in Jordan Morris earlier this year.
