Rumors: Portland Timbers Active During Transfer Window

This morning, Stumptown Footy, a Portland based blog dedicated to the Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns (NWSL), ran a piece speculating that the Timbers have signed a new left back.

This certainly follows the narrative that began as the Timbers loaned midfielder Dairon Asprilla to the Colombian club Millonarios FC in order to free up salary cap space for the second transfer window. Many sources, including the Oregonian, reported that the Timbers would be looking to acquire a left back in the second transfer window. If they have, the salary cap space Dairon Asprilla freed will be critical to signing any new additions to the Timbers’ roster.
