Scott Arfield might be on his way to the Vancouver Whitecaps. Metro reported this week that the ‘Caps are interested in signing the 28-year-old Canadian midfielder. Arfield currently plays for English side Burnley in the Premier League.
Born in Scotland, Arfield only opted to play internationally for Canada this year, but has already cemented a spot for himself in the Canadian team with six appearances in 2016.
Pedro Morales’ departure has opened up a space in central midfield that Arfield could slot into. Carl Robinson is currently in the UK, and he admitted in an interview with the AFTN Soccer Podcast that it’s not just for festive reasons.
