Real Salt Lake midfielder Omar Holness says he's "just grateful to be alive" after suffering a seizure during his professional debut on Saturday.
Holness, the fifth pick in the January's MLS SuperDraft, was 34 minutes into his first game on loan at RSL'S affiliate club Real Monarchs when he collapsed and was taken to a hospital.
The former North Carolina Tar Heel also suffered a separated shoulder during the seizure and he returned to Rio Tinto Stadium for treatment on Monday.
Real Salt Lake told MLSsoccer.com that the seizure was club was Holness' first, and the club was hopeful he would be able to resume his career.
