Vancouver Whitecaps fans were put through a roller-coaster on Wednesday night as they hosted New York City FC.
After the Whitecaps took an early lead, NYCFC turned the score around with two quick goals before halftime, the second a very questionable penalty. But Vancouver were able to capitalize on defensive errors and had the last laugh.
First, the goals
It was the perfect start for the Whitecaps as Brek Shea pressured Maxime Chanot into giving the ball away on the wing. Shea fed the ball to Fredy Montero, who made no mistake with the one-on-one.
