Report: Obafemi Martins headed to China

The Chinese Super League has surprisingly became one of the world’s most popular landing spots in recent weeks, acquiring players from around the world. Not only did the likes of Gervinho, and Jackson Martinez elect to make the move to Asia for big-money contracts, Argentine international Ezequiel Lavezzi also committed to play in China when his contract with Paris St-Germain expires at the end of the current campaign.

However, despite attracting international stars from Europe, the Chinese Super League hasn’t posed too much of a threat to Major League Soccer.. until now that is. According to a report from the BBC, the Seattle Sounders have completed a deal that will see prized Designated Players, Obafemi Martins, join Chinese Super League club, Shanghai Shenhua.
