When it rains, it pours. The Colorado Rapids’ night went from bad to worse to disastrous. A 6-0 loss to Real Salt Lake left the Rapids dejected after putting together some decent matches over the last few weeks.
Two red cards in the first half ultimately doomed the Rapids’ chances at taking any type of positive result from their rivals. Damir Kreilach had given Real a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute. Then a ninth-minute red card was shown to Niki Jackson of the Rapids. One of the worst starts imaginable to the derby match.
