Going into Saturday afternoons match against DC United, Real Salt Lake had one last chance to do something they have never done before, win at RFK Stadium. While RFK has been a part of Major League Soccer since the beginning, this would be RSL’s last chance, as DC United are getting ready to move into a smaller, soccer specific stadium of their own next season. Mother Nature also paid a special visit for RSL once again, as the match was postponed until Sunday due to a lightning storm.
Upon returning to play, Real Salt Lake was able to earn three points thanks to a beautiful volley by someone who was very familiar with the turf of RFK.
