The Portland Timbers hosted Sporting Kansas City with both sides looking for crucial points in the incredibly tightly congested Western playoff race. In the end, it was the Timbers who came out on top, but not without a fair share of drama beforehand.
Benny Feilhaber opened the scoring with a cross floating up and over the stranded Steve Clark, before Jeremy Ebobisse and Brian Fernandez scored in the final ten minutes to hand the home side the crucial victory.
