Cristian Roldan opened the scoring midway through the first half, slamming home from short ranger after Portland failed to clear. Raul Ruidiaz then doubled the advantage just after half-time, before the Timbers pressed for a comeback, scoring twice, only one of which counted, Brian Fernandez’s late equaliser chalked off for offside.
