Oh dear, Portland. While the early-season struggles were always added with the caveat that they would end the season with a home-heavy schedule due to the construction of Providence Park, now that home-heavy schedule has rolled around, they are not taking advantage of it.
The Portland Timbers lost at home yet again on Wednesday night, this time to the New York Red Bulls in a deserved 2-0 defeat. They have now lost their last two home matches, both to Eastern playoff opponents, as well as four of their last six. It is not going well for the Timbers.
