Philadelphia Union: Announce the signing of Oguchi Onyewu

He’s back. Onyewu has joined the Philadelphia Union as a free agent after last playing for Charlton Athletic in 2015. Onyewu’s resume includes a long list of European teams such as QPR, AC Milan, Sheffield Wednesday, Newcastle, and much more.

Surprisingly, this will be Onyewu’s first MLS team, but don’t let that statistic turn you away. The 34-year old D.C. native has made 69 appearances for the United States, including the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.

“Oguchi is a big, physical presence who brings experience and veteran professionalism, important traits that we believe will be an asset for our group of young defenders.
