While MLS sides mostly dominated the U.S. Open Cup fourth round action, as expected, there were a few second division clubs that provided the upsets. The action kicked off Tuesday with DC United ending the Cinderella run of amateur side Christos FC, and the Seattle Sounders knocking out their Cascadia rivals the Portland Timbers.
Wednesday saw the remaining 13 matches, including FC Cincinnati upsetting a Columbus Crew side which featured the majority of their MLS starters. Elsewhere, Miami FC upset Orlando City FC, and the Sacramento Republic routed Real Salt Lake 4-1.
