For as grim as things looked for FC Kansas City following a long season of poor management in the NWSL, the new Salt Lake City franchise has shown nothing but promise. The new club announced earlier this week that former Seattle Reign head coach Laura Harvey would be leading the yet to be named franchise in their debut season. A few days after the introduction of Harvey, the club revealed that they will be known as Utah Royals FC.
Along with the new name, the Royals revealed their new crest, which pays homage to the RSL franchise with its colors, lioness, and crown, while also highlighting Utah itself with a depiction of the famous Delicate Arch found in Arches National Park.
