The beginning of 2014 was horrid for both the New York Red Bulls and BWP. Wright-Phillips scored in the season opener, but subsequently went on a 6 game goal drought.
The team failed to win a game for a month and change, until a home fixture against the Houston Dynamo. Mike Petke’s team needed a spark desperately, and BWP delivered with a hat-trick.
