New York City FC Vs Vancouver Whitecaps: 3 things we learned – Whitecaps steal a point late

Related Topics: Nicolás Mezquida, Erik Hurtado

Leaving it late was a common theme across Major League Soccer on Saturday night. The Vancouver Whitecaps were one of the clubs that took advantage of a late surge to pick up a positive result. Erik Hurtado was the hero for the visitors as his 87th-minute goal gave the Whitecaps a big point on the road against one of the Eastern Conference’s best clubs, New York City FC.

The Whitecaps had originally taken the lead in the first half when Nicolas Mezquida scored in the 22nd minute. However, New York City would get a goal from Jesus Medina in the first-half stoppage time to level the score at halftime.
