Let the summer transfers begin. New York City FC wasted little time in starting their summer business as they inked Gary Mackay-Steven to a deal on Monday. The Scottish winger comes to Major League Soccer from Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
This move comes after weeks of rumors that Mackay-Steven was on his way to New York after his contract with Aberdeen had come to an end. Portsmouth appeared to be another possible choice for the 28-year-old as reports had him linked to the EFL League 1 side.
In the end, Mackay-Steven decided to join the MLS side as he hopes to help the club reach the playoffs and make a run at an appearance in MLS Cup.
