A quality start to the afternoon turned into a bitter draw for the New England Revolution on a cold afternoon in Foxboro. Visiting New York City FC, backed by a nice showing from their travelling supporters, fought back from a pair of one-goal deficits to tie the Revs 2-2 in an exciting and pulsating affair.
New England looked the better team throughout much of the afternoon, exhibiting attacking flair and an aggressive high-press in their defending. The high-press tactic led to the Revs’ opening goal of the afternoon just ten minutes into the contest.
