Two years, five months, one week. 889 days. That’s how long it had been since the New England won a road game on American soil until last night. The New England Revolution defeated the Houston Dynamo 2-0 on Saturday night thanks to a thoroughly convincing offensive outing.
The Revs staved off under early pressure from Houston and got the benefit of a DaMarcus Beasley red card in the win. New England saw impressive performances from Cristian Penilla and Luis Caicedo in his debut.
Despite a few issues defensively, the Revs are finding their identity under first-year head coach Brad Friedel.
