Entering the first international break of the 2018 MLS Season, the weekend story was mostly one of idle clubs and several mid-table draws. Two of the top MLS teams showed their quality against bottom-half talent, but, for the most part, club’s season storylines are still taking shape.
Contenders are making themselves known; some teams are obviously going to be punchbags without major changes. But there is still time to alter the narrative. Some teams have only played two games, for instance.
Moreover, new signings are still joining teams. Early weeks allows players and coaches time to implement a system and style with some game testing.
