Real Salt Lake has made the largest move they will make in terms of player movement, as they decided the on the team options of 11 players. The team chose to keep key midfield contributors Sunny and Luke Mulholland, along with depth pieces in defender David Horst and young attacker Sebastian Saucedo.
Along with the four players coming back, RSL chose to decline the option on seven different players, Chad Barrett, Matt Van Oekel, Reagan Dunk, Ricardo Velazco, Chris Schuler, Justin Schmidt, and Omar Holness. Declining the options still allows RSL to discuss new contracts with those players for different terms before they enter into one of the many player drafts used to move players around the league, should they choose to stay in MLS.
