We are beginning to learn a lot about the 24 Major League Soccer teams in 2019. A little over a quarter of the way through the season for most teams, the patterns of play, the relative standards of the squad, and the notable offseason acquisitions and departures are all taking shape.
At the top of the pile sit Los Angeles FC. They are the best team in the league. There is also a raft of close-by challengers, from their L.A. rivals to Toronto FC, D.C. United and the Seattle Sounders. But are there any other potential contenders when the playoffs roll around?
