The Portland Timbers travelled to a dangerous but underperforming Minnesota United on Saturday evening hoping to firmly establish their place among the Western Conference playoff standings.
They weren’t able to do so. The dormant Minnesota woke up. And how did they wake up? It was a blistering attacking performance in the first half to put the Loons 3-0 up at half-time. That would be enough for the victory, despite an inspired second-half comeback by the Timbers.
