When D.C. United arrived in Minnesota, they were hoping to reassert their dominance atop the Eastern Conference. After a defeat for Toronto FC on Saturday, as well as the Philadelphia Union failing to win, D.C. could move three points clear of, surprisingly, the Montreal Impact at the top of the East. It was not to be.
Instead, the underrated and extremely dangerous Minnesota United got their first win of the Allianz Field era with a late Angelo Rodriguez goal.
