According to MLSSoccer.com and ESPN FC’s Jeff Reuter on Twitter, members of Minnesota United’s front office were scouting in Belgium towards the end of December, and Minnesota were confirmed to have scouts in attendance at the Royal Excel Mouscron vs. Zulte-Waregem match on December 23rd.
Though this isn’t the most exciting news, it will at least give Loons fans something to speculate on in an off-season that has been severely lacking player acquisition news on Minnesota United’s part. They were reportedly interested in New York Red Bulls and USMNT midfielder Sacha Kljestan but that move obviously did not materialize as he was traded to Orlando City Soccer Club.
