New signings Sam Nicholson and Michael Boxall made their MLS debuts in this one. They didn’t show much, but they weren’t bad, especially considering that they’ve only had a couple of training sessions.
Their debuts should at least make fans hopeful that they can provide some much-needed depth to the roster, while having the potential to start if needed. It was be interesting to see how Nicholson and Boxall can fit into the team once they’ve had more time to get with their teammates.

Costa Rica’s loss to the US in the Gold Cup semifinals means that Captain Francisco Calvo will return to the Loons.
