It was a historic 2019 campaign for Minnesota United. They reached the postseason for the first time in their short MLS history as they finished inside the top four in the Western Conference, by far their best-ever finish in the regular season.
After losing out on the final day of the season to the Seattle Sounders, Minnesota finished the year in fourth place and hosted their first-ever playoff game, facing LA Galaxy at Allianz Field. However, they were the only side hosting a first-round game to lose, with their first foray into the postseason being a short one.
