MLS week one kicks off for Minnesota United against San Jose Earthquakes, neither of whom exactly ran away with their seasons last year, both of whom will be optimistic coming into a brand new year with the world at their feet.
Minnesota United are coming off their inaugural year, which was ripe with inconsistencies, mainly on the defensive side of things. They surrendered more goals than any other MLS club – 70 in total.
However, there has to be a good deal of optimism that better times lay ahead. But it all starts on defense.
