The Los Angeles Galaxy knew they would have some difficult decisions to make this offseason. With Robbie Keane, Giovani dos Santos, and Steven Gerrard, currently taking up the team’s three Designated Player spots, they knew they’d likely have to depart with some key pieces in a league that is governed by a salary cap.
Earlier in the week, the team said goodbye to USMNT defender, Omar Gonzalez, who was transferred to Mexican club, Pachuca. The team would have liked to have kept the talented 27-year-old, but given the current league structure, simply weren’t able to.
On Thursday, the team officially announced that they have transferred their second player this week to a Liga MX side.
