Los Angeles FC: LAFC signs Egyptian Omar Gaber on loan

As Los Angeles FC prepare for their Major League Soccer debut, the new club once again shows they are looking to hit the ground running, this time with Egyptian, Omar Gaber. The 25-year-old right back heads to LA from FC Basel in Switzerland with Champion’s League and World Cup Qualifying experience, and will also participate in the 2018 World Cup with Egypt.

According to the team’s announcement, Gaber was signed using Target Allocation Money, which was the same mechanism Atlanta United used to land some of their impressive pieces from South America. United was able to attract those players with the presence of Tata Martino, and it looks like Bob Bradley is using his own network in similar fashion (Bradley coached the Egyptian National Team from 2011-2013).
