The 2019 iteration of Los Angeles FC have been the best team in MLS history. And on Wednesday night, they finally put the silverware in the trophy cabinet to prove it, a 3-1 win over the Houston Dynamo enough to secure the Supporters’ Shield, the first trophy for the second-year expansion club.
Predictably, Carlos Vela opened the scoring, this time from the penalty spot, for his 30th goal of the season, before Diego Rossi and Eduard Atuesta wrapped up a dominant performance despite a hiatus after a Tyler Miller own goal brought Houston level for 42 minutes.
