With MLS’ announcement there will be an expansion draft in December, attention went immediately as to how LAFC will expand their roster. Teams will have 11 slots to protect players, along with a few other categories of players like Generation Adidas and Homegrown talent being automatically protected. LAFC will have five picks to add to their roster. The last expansion draft showed there is a big emphasis on adding depth rather than looking for real talent. The way LAFC is looking to spend on attacking players like Carlos Vela shows that they will likely look to bolster defensive depth as well.
