Having lost their first game in MLS 4-1 to the Seattle Sounders, many had started to ask just how ready FC Cincinnati were for this level. But Sunday’s 3-0 win over the Portland Timbers in the home opener of the season, as well as the impressive 1-1 draw away to Atlanta United, has given Cincinnati’s fans real hope that they can compete.
It took FCC just 15 minutes to open the scoring, with Kendall Waston (more on him later) firing home a header from a menacing Leonardo Bertone delivery and throughout the first half, their aerial threat caused a number of problems for the Timbers.
