Audi Field was rocking on Thursday night as D.C. United played host to the Columbus Crew. The game got off to a quick start with the Crew being the aggressor early on. In the 20th minute, an out-of-character Zack Steffen mistake led to the first goal for D.C. United on a header by Frederic Brillant. Federico Higuain responded ten minutes later with a shot inside the box off a deflection to tie the match 1-1. The game continued to be tightly contested with both teams scoring goals in extra time.
It was deja vu in penalty kicks as Steffen once again came up huge for the Crew in the playoffs.
