Larsen signed for the Columbus Crew back in January and was supposed to add depth to an already talented midfield while also challenging for first time minutes. Berhalter saw Larsen as a player that could be utilized in a number of different midfield positions, both on the wings and also in a more central role.
Things have not gone well for Larsen in Columbus though. Since arriving in the capital city Larsen has rarely seen the pitch, accumulating just three appearances for a total of thirty-seven minutes in the MLS thus far.
Rumors began to swirl that Larsen was unhappy with his marginal role about a month ago.
