The Colorado Rapids have acquired midfielder Zach Pfeffer as the player to be named later from the trade that send the No. 2 pick in the MLS SuperDraft to the Philadelphia Union on Thursday.
The Rapids also received general allocation money as part of the deal.
Pfeffer, 21, played in 21 MLS games last season, scoring twice. He was a product of the Union's youth system and spent a yeah with German club Hoffenheim in 2013.
"Zach is a talented young player who has been a professional since 2011," said Rapids GM Paul Bravo. "He is the same age as a lot of these players at the SuperDraft and, had he been involved this year, he would have been a top pick.
