For the Chicago Red Stars, this is just one big whole mess. After being in first place back in May, the Red Stars have now lost to Sky Blue FC, at home. Sky Blue FC have not won an away game since 2017 and had only won a single game in the past two seasons before this weekend.
The first half saw a lot of misguided and misdirected play from the Red Stars. Unable to get the ball to Sam Kerr in time, the game was almost instantly tipped over towards Sky Blue. In the 22nd minute, a complete defensive breakdown from Chicago ended with Raquel Rodriguez putting Sky Blue up top.
