The Chicago Fire reclaimed the illustrious Brimstone Cup on Saturday afternoon as the Men In Red beat FC Dallas 4-0 at SeatGeek Stadium. It was one of those days where things just go right for the Fire. Everyone was in high spirits following the announcement of new ownership only 24 hours earlier and that positive energy clearly translated on the pitch.
CJ Sapong opened the scoring for the home side, pouncing on a careless giveaway and rounding the keeper before passing the ball into the back of the net. Chicago doubled their advantage ten minutes later when a Brandt Bronico cross made its way to Przemyslaw Frankowski at the back post, who was able to poke home from close range.
