The 2019 offseason has been promising for the Chicago Fire so far. The club has slowly been rebuilding their roster and has already managed to fill in a number of positions of need.
It started in the heart of the defense, as center-back Marcelo signed from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon. Chicago then added another attacking option in Polish international Przemyslaw Frankowski before bringing in MLS veteran goalkeeper David Ousted to take the starting job in net. They managed to keep a few key players from last season on board as well, with Johan Kappelhof and Bastian Schweinsteiger both signing deals to stay in the Windy City for the upcoming season.
