The Vancouver Whitecaps defeated Trinidad and Toboggan side Central FC last night in the opening game of the 2016-2017 CONCACAF Champions League.
A back and forth game heavily dominated by Central FC didn’t end up they way they had planned.
The Trinidad and Toboggan reigning champs out shot their Canadian opponent 14 to 11 all the while holding 55% of the possession.
“They took their chance – they took their half-chance, actually. We had a couple good chances and we couldn’t capitalize on it. You have to score to win.”
