It was not the ideal start to the season for Frank de Boer and Atlanta United. Crashing out as they did in the CONCACAF Champions League, then floundering in MLS, a league they won just months before. But after a ropy opening stanza, the Five Stripes are beginning to get back to their MLS Cup-winning form.
They notched their third successive victory on Wednesday night in a 2-0 win over Toronto FC, another team destined to be fighting at the top of the Eastern Conference. It was a consummate display, arguably their best under de Boer, and puts them above the playoff line in the East.
