Atlanta United finally won a Decision Day match, besting the New England Revolution 3-1 on Sunday. With the win, Atlanta locked up the second seed heading into this year’s Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. They will host their first opponent on Saturday, October 19, the very team they just beat on Sunda, the New England Revolution.
Sunday’s match mainly served as a confidence boost for the Five Stripes. The team got back some of their most important players from injury and honored what will be one of the most important players in club history. Despite a few defensive lapses (yet again), the team held on for a strong performance overall, just in time for the playoffs.
