Villanova is still the nation's top-ranked team, but Virginia is closer than ever in its rearview mirror.
The Cavaliers picked up an extra 16 first-place votes in the latest Associated Press poll, bringing them within 35 points of the top-ranked Wildcats. Virginia gained the boost thanks in large part to a 65-63 win over fourth-ranked Duke on Saturday.
Purdue, Duke and Michigan State round out the Top Five.
