The eighteenth edition of the MLS SuperDraft came to conclusion on January 17 and it was a quite an eventful one for Toronto FC, who managed to add some great prospects to their roster. The emphasis in this year’s draft was to improve the squad depth on the defensive side of things, which was a different approach to 2016’s more attack minded recruitment.
The Reds surprisingly made only one selection during the first two rounds (Day 1) at the NSCAA 2017 convention in Los Angeles, choosing to trade away both their second round selections in exchange for extra target allocation money (TAM) amounting to $75k.
